NGO AidJoy's Management
Away from the office AidJoy's core team members are seasoned explorers.  We have lead expeditions in some of the planet's most inhospitable environments: the Grand Canyon, Amazon rainforest, and the slums of Cambodia, among others.  We have years of experience completing tasks in some of the world's most adverse conditions.  It is our privilege to use these skills to empower dedicated charities in remote regions.

Jonathan Shanin, Executive Director

Jonathan has headed up AceEngine since 2001. AceEngine is an online marketing firm specializing in search engine optimization. He holds two degrees in engineering from The University of New Orleans (marine engineering and naval architecture). Jonathan, a former national team member in kayaking, has led kayak expeditions in Ecuador, Costa Rica, Austria, and Alaska. Jonathan Shanin

Jim Ciallella, Director of Technology

A recognized community volunteer and professional, Jim Ciallella blends passion and work. His early fascination with the web led to a BS in computer science from Clemson University, where an added interest in business later inspired the parallel pursuit of an IT career and a Clemson MBA. Today, Jim continues to explore business and web-based technology as a partner at the web company OrangeCoat and as lead web developer for AidJoy. Jonathan Shanin

Mike Bergen, Director of Photography & Media

After studying mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech, Michael Bergen set off to explore the world through the lens of a camera. Over the last 9 years he has found himself shooting in the Austrian Alps, the Amazon jungle, the medinas of Morocco, and the slums of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, among others. An avid adventurer, Michael's last project took him on a ten thousand mile motorcycle ride across North America and through Central America. Jonathan Shanin
